Proud Mum

September 21, 2011 2:43pm

I am such a proud mum this week, my boy is doing so well at his new school, it feels like we were worrying for nothing!

He's at a different school to his brother and sister so we were a bit worried about it, as you are with every kid as they get to secondary school, but he's made quite a few different friends by the looks of it, and today he came home with a commendation in his school diary already for exceptional performance in his P.E. lesson!

I'm so chuffed with him I'm going to buy him the R4i card he's been after and surprise him with it. He deserves it the little sweetie!

That's not to say I'm not just as proud of my older ones, they're all wonderful, good, talented young kids and I love them all the bits. I'm so lucky.

School Uniforms: What A Fuss!

September 20, 2011 11:31am

We got there in the end, first term has started at last! It felt like a hell of a rush toward the end of summer, especially with my boy starting in secondary school, you wouldn't think we'd had six weeks to prepare, in the last week we had so much stuff to get!

We went to get his uniform, the list the school gives you says to get it from John Lewis, but for plain shirts and trousers why am I going to go and buy expensive ones? They're a quarter of the price in Tesco and the quality is pretty similar! And he's growing so much they won't fit him in a few months!

He wears a school blazer but now it's getting colder we're looking at warm but thin quilted jackets to go over it. What a fuss! The blazers look daft I don't know why they need them!

Don't they grow up fast?

June 8, 2011 3:18pm

My youngest boy is off to secondary school in September, it's crazy that it's come so soon. My oldest is already at uni, so for the baby to be off to secondary is really weird, makes me feel old!

He just doesn't stop growing, and it's probably only going to get worse when he hits his early teens. The amount of shoes and trainers we've gone through this past year or so is ridiculous, no matter how big we buy them he always grows out of them in a matter of months!

It doesn't feel like that long ago he was running around in his dad's trainers as a tot, soon he'll be a teenager, going out on his own with his mates, getting a girlfriend. Ahh! Too soon!

Outdoor Storage

June 5, 2011 7:41pm

I had never really thought about getting much outdoor storage until I saw this:

These wicker boxes look really nice in the garden and are a lot more attractive then the plastic type boxes you can get.

They were quite expensive at £399, but they fit all the kids outdoor toys, all my gardening equipment and all the patio cushions.

They look stylish and they really fit in with the theme of our garden. I highly recommend!

Three things I would do if I won the Lottery...

May 23, 2011 8:43pm

Me and my friends were talking the other day and we listed the three things we would do if we won the lottery. I was quite surprised what some of my friends said - one said straight away she would have a boob job! And one said she would give a huge chunk to charity.

My three things would be:

1. Pay of all my and my families debts.
2. Go travelling and see the world VIP style
3. Buy a nice house for me and houses for my family.

So now all I have got to do is keep an eye on the lottoresultat and keep my fingers crossed!
